1. Purpose
Court De Padel is committed to operating with honesty, integrity and transparency. This policy provides a safe and clear way for staff, coaches, volunteers, members and others connected with the club to raise genuine concerns about serious wrongdoing.
2. What Can Be Reported?
Concerns may include, but are not limited to:
• Criminal activity, fraud, theft or financial misconduct.
• Serious breaches of health and safety requirements.
• Safeguarding concerns involving children or adults at risk.
• Serious discrimination, harassment, bullying or abuse.
• Serious breaches of club policies or legal obligations.
• Attempts to conceal wrongdoing or prevent someone from raising a concern.
• Conduct that could seriously damage the reputation, safety or integrity of Court De Padel.
3. Who Can Raise a Concern?
Anyone working with, volunteering for, participating at, or otherwise connected with Court De Padel may raise a genuine concern. You do not need to be certain that wrongdoing has occurred; you should raise a concern where you reasonably believe something may be wrong.
4. How to Raise a Concern
Concerns should normally be raised with a member of Court De Padel management. Where appropriate, a concern may be raised verbally or in writing. The person receiving the concern should listen carefully, record the relevant facts and ensure it is passed to the appropriate person for consideration.
If the concern relates to a member of management, the concern should be raised with another senior person within the club where possible.
5. Safeguarding Concerns
Whistleblowing must not be used as a substitute for immediate safeguarding action. If a concern involves the safety or welfare of a child or adult at risk, Court De Padel’s Safeguarding Policy must also be followed.
Where there is an immediate risk of serious harm or a crime is in progress, contact the emergency services on 999 before making an internal report.
6. Confidentiality
Court De Padel will handle whistleblowing concerns as confidentially as reasonably possible. Information will only be shared with those who need it to assess, investigate or respond to the concern, or where disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect someone from harm.
7. Protection From Victimisation
Court De Padel will not tolerate retaliation, victimisation or detrimental treatment of anyone who raises a genuine concern in good faith. Deliberately making malicious or knowingly false allegations may, however, be treated as a disciplinary or conduct matter.
8. Responding to Concerns
• The concern will be acknowledged and recorded where appropriate.
• The club will assess the nature and seriousness of the concern.
• Further information may be gathered where necessary.
• Appropriate internal or external advice may be sought.
• Where required, concerns may be referred to the police, safeguarding authorities, regulators or other relevant bodies.
• The club will take appropriate action based on the findings, while respecting confidentiality and applicable legal requirements.
9. Review
This policy will be reviewed at least annually, or sooner if there are significant changes to the club, relevant legislation, guidance or operating arrangements.
