1. Purpose

Court De Padel aims to provide safe, inclusive and enjoyable events, activities and competitions for members, guests and visitors. This guidance sets out the standards expected when the club organises or hosts padel sessions, social events, junior activities, tournaments and competitions.

2. Planning and Risk Management

• Events and competitions should be planned with the number, age and needs of participants in mind.
• Appropriate risk assessments should be completed for organised activities where required.
• Organisers should consider court capacity, weather, lighting, equipment, access, first aid, emergency arrangements and crowd movement.
• Any special requirements, accessibility needs or medical information provided by participants should be considered appropriately.
• External providers, coaches and officials should meet relevant Court De Padel requirements.

3. Supervision and Safeguarding

• Activities involving children must have appropriate supervision and safeguarding arrangements.
• Coaches, officials and volunteers must maintain professional boundaries.
• Adults responsible for junior activities should know how to report safeguarding concerns.
• Children should not be left without appropriate supervision where the club has accepted responsibility for them.
• Safeguarding concerns must be managed in accordance with the Court De Padel Safeguarding Policy.

4. Competition Standards

• Competitions should be organised fairly and consistently, with rules and formats communicated clearly before play.
• Players are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship and respect opponents, partners, officials and staff.
• Abusive, threatening, discriminatory or deliberately intimidating behaviour will not be accepted.
• Disputes should be raised calmly with the designated organiser or official rather than through confrontation.
• Competition organisers may remove a participant from an event where behaviour presents a safety or serious conduct concern.

5. Junior Events and Activities

Junior events should be planned with the age and maturity of participants in mind. Parents/carers should receive clear information about timings, supervision, collection arrangements and emergency contacts where appropriate.

• Coaches and volunteers must follow safeguarding and safer recruitment requirements.
• Communication with juniors must remain appropriate and professional.
• Changing room, photography and online communication rules continue to apply during events.
• Any concern about a child’s welfare must be reported promptly.

6. Fair Play and Behaviour

• Play fairly and respect the rules of padel.
• Treat opponents, partners, coaches, officials, staff and spectators with respect.
• Do not use threatening, abusive, discriminatory or offensive language.
• Do not deliberately damage equipment or facilities.
• Follow reasonable instructions from event organisers and club staff.

7. Spectators and Guests

• Spectators must follow venue rules and respect players and officials.
• Spectators must not enter courts or restricted areas unless authorised.
• Photography and filming must follow the Court De Padel Photography & Filming Policy.
• Spectators should not distract, intimidate or abuse players or officials.
• Parents and carers attending junior events are expected to model positive and respectful behaviour.

8. Health, Safety and First Aid

• Players must follow court safety rules and report hazards or injuries immediately.
• Suitable footwear and equipment should be used.
• Participants should take appropriate breaks, particularly during prolonged or hot-weather events.
• First aid arrangements should be available for organised competitions and activities as appropriate.
• Where someone becomes seriously unwell or injured, call 999 where necessary and follow the club’s emergency procedures.

9. Changing Rooms and Toilets

The Court De Padel Changing Room Policy applies during all events and competitions. Privacy must be respected, and photography or filming is strictly prohibited in changing rooms, shower areas and toilets.

10. Alcohol and Impairment

Anyone participating in, supervising or officiating an activity must be fit to do so. Alcohol or any other substance must not impair a person’s ability to play safely, supervise others, officiate or carry out club responsibilities.

11. Incidents and Complaints

Accidents, injuries, safeguarding concerns, serious disputes and significant behavioural incidents should be reported to the event organiser or Court De Padel management as soon as possible.

• Incidents should be recorded where appropriate.
• Safeguarding concerns should be escalated under the Safeguarding Policy.
• Complaints should be handled fairly and respectfully.
• Serious incidents may be referred to emergency services, police, safeguarding authorities or relevant sporting bodies.

12. Inclusion and Accessibility

Court De Padel aims to ensure events and competitions are welcoming and accessible. Organisers should consider reasonable adjustments for disabled participants and avoid unnecessary barriers to participation. Discrimination or harassment is not tolerated.

13. Review

This guidance will be reviewed at least annually, or sooner following a significant incident, change in activities, facilities, legislation or relevant safeguarding guidance.

I highly recommend this venue. The staff are consistently friendly and approachable, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The food and drinks are outstanding, and Kale’s (the chefs) baked cookies and brownies are exceptional. For anyone considering playing, booking a court is a must!!!!
