1. Purpose

Court De Padel is committed to providing clean, safe and respectful changing facilities where all members and visitors can change, shower and prepare for play with dignity and privacy.

2. Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to all members, guests, children and young people, parents/carers, staff, coaches, volunteers, contractors and visitors using the changing facilities at Court De Padel.

3. General Rules

• Changing rooms and toilets must be used respectfully and for their intended purpose.
• Users must respect the privacy, dignity and personal space of others.
• Appropriate clothing must be worn outside the changing and shower areas.
• Aggressive, intimidating, discriminatory, sexualised or otherwise inappropriate behaviour is not permitted.
• Users should keep belongings secure and report lost property to club staff.
• The facilities must be left clean and tidy after use.
• Any damage, hazard, spill, leak or maintenance issue should be reported to Court De Padel staff immediately.

4. Children and Young People

Court De Padel recognises that children and young people require particular consideration in changing facilities.

• Adults should respect children’s privacy and avoid unnecessary presence in junior changing areas.
• Staff and coaches should not enter changing rooms occupied by children unless there is a genuine safeguarding, medical or emergency reason.
• Where staff entry is necessary, they should announce themselves before entering and, where practicable, have another appropriate adult present.
• Staff and coaches must never photograph or film children in changing rooms, shower areas or toilets.
• Children should be encouraged to report anything that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
• Parents/carers should follow any specific arrangements communicated by the club for junior sessions and events.

5. Staff and Coaches

• Staff and coaches must maintain professional boundaries at all times.
• Staff should not change or shower alongside children participating in club activities.
• Staff must not use changing facilities as a place for private conversations with children.
• Any necessary entry into a changing area should be brief, appropriate and undertaken for a legitimate reason.
• Any safeguarding concern arising in the changing facilities must be reported in accordance with the Court De Padel Safeguarding Policy.

6. Photography and Mobile Phones

Photography and filming are strictly prohibited in changing rooms, shower areas and toilets.

• Mobile phones and cameras must not be used to photograph or film other users in these areas.
• The club may ask a person to stop using a device if there is a concern about privacy or inappropriate recording.
• Any suspected inappropriate photography or filming must be reported to Court De Padel management immediately and may be treated as a safeguarding matter.

7. Privacy and Personal Conduct

• Do not stare at, comment on or make unwanted remarks about another person’s body or appearance.
• Do not enter an occupied toilet cubicle or shower space without a legitimate reason.
• Respect people’s personal boundaries and cultural or individual preferences.
• Sexual activity, harassment, intimidation or unwanted physical contact is not permitted.

8. Cleanliness and Hygiene

• Users should shower where appropriate after playing and maintain good personal hygiene.
• Do not leave clothing, towels, bottles, food or other personal items in shared areas.
• Use bins provided and dispose of waste responsibly.
• Users should report cleaning or hygiene concerns to staff rather than attempting to use unsafe or unsuitable cleaning products themselves.

9. Safety and Emergencies

If someone becomes unwell, is injured, or there is an immediate safety concern, notify a member of staff immediately. In an emergency requiring urgent assistance, call 999.

Staff may enter changing or toilet areas where necessary to respond to an emergency, protect someone from harm, or address an immediate health and safety issue.

10. Reporting Concerns

Any concern about inappropriate behaviour, harassment, abuse, safeguarding, privacy or safety in the changing facilities should be reported promptly to Court De Padel management. Concerns involving children or adults at risk will be managed in accordance with the club’s Safeguarding Policy.

11. Breaches of This Policy

Court De Padel may take appropriate and proportionate action where this policy is breached. Depending on the nature and seriousness of the behaviour, this may include a warning, removal from the facilities, suspension or termination of club membership, and/or referral to the police or relevant safeguarding authorities.

12. Review

This policy will be reviewed at least annually, or sooner where there is a significant incident, change to the facilities, change in legislation or updated safeguarding guidance.

I highly recommend this venue. The staff are consistently friendly and approachable, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The food and drinks are outstanding, and Kale’s (the chefs) baked cookies and brownies are exceptional. For anyone considering playing, booking a court is a must!!!!
